Build the Little Warrior Tadpole
Trike.
The Little Warrior transforms a pair of small kids bikes
into a robust and highly maneuverable tadpole style trike that can be
used indoors or outdoors. The Little Warrior even includes an adjustable
bottom bracket so you can adjust the trike to your young pilots as they
grow or so that it can accommodate several riders with just a quick
adjustment. Like all of our plans, there is always a lot of room to make
your own modifications and use whatever parts you have in your junk
pile, so you can create your very own custom trike. All of the plans
included in this download can be made using only a welder, some basic
tools, and commonly available bicycle parts.
Ride all day long on an electric trike.
This fun and rugged Electric Delta Trike will run all day
long on a single battery charge, and can take whatever abuse your young
stunt riders can throw at it. Using a motor from a small electric
scooter, wheelchair, or even a windshield wiper motor, you can let your
kids ride silently on pure electric power. This electric trike is stable
enough to be ridden indoors, and can easily be modified into just about
any configuration. Top speed and acceleration can be adjusted easily by
choosing various motors or battery types as well.
The Whipper Snapper is a little dose of attitude.
Here is a chopper for the young Whipper Snappers. It’s
only fair that the little ones have cool wheels, and this project can be
built in a few afternoons using nothing more than a kids bike and some
spare tubing. Even the smallest bike can be made into a cool custom
chopper, and kids will master the bike in a hurry since the steering
geometry is much the same as a regular bicycle. Garage hackers in the
making...start 'em young!
Turn that rusty old BMX into The Wizard Chopper.
The Wizard Chopper does a little black magic on an old
BMX frame to create a laid back, old skool style chopper that is fun
and easy to ride. The banana seat and laid back seating position makes
the chopper great for wheelies - a required chopper pilot skill. This
cool chop can be made using most BMX frames and some spare
tubing in a single night.
The FireCracker is a great starter chopper.
The
FireCracker transforms a kids bike into a cool chop that handles exactly
like the original bike, making it a great beginner's chopper. By
extending the frame and fork tubing, the original styling of the bike is
kept intact, making it easy to convert without adding any extra
components. Any bike can be used, and only a few feet of spare tubing
are needed in order to convert an everyday bike into a great looking
chopper.
ChopWork Orange is a cool retro chopper.
ChopWork Orange is half art, half chopper, but all
attitude! By joining together two bike frames, this project produces a
chopper that can accommodate kids of all sizes without having to fight
for leg room. The almost random placement of scrap bicycle tubing makes
the chopper look highly engineered and complex, although it can be built
in a few evenings with little effort. Any bike frame and steel tubing
can be used, and the completed chopper will be easily mastered by all
young bikers.
The Stinger is a progressive lowrider.
The Stinger turns a mundane frame in a a laid back easy
rider that handles much like a regular bicycle. By cutting sections from
the frame and reworking them at different angles, the rider is places
over the rear wheel while keeping the same steering geometry. A scrap
kids frame and a pair of 26 inch forks are all that is needed.
The AfterBurner turns out that 70's look.
The AfterBurner takes on a 1970's chopper look, allowing
the older chopper pilots to have a full set of gears and keep up to any
regular bicycle. By cutting and reworking a typical mountain bike frame,
the geometry is altered in order to take the smaller front wheel and
keep the feel of the original bike in tact. The larger rear wheel allows
for a full range of gears to be used. and the laid back seating allows
for some great wheelies. just about any frame can be converted, and as
always, there is a ton of room for your own personal modifications.
