Quad pedal race car - refurbish and improvement [ I hope ]

I used Dewalt Extreme 2 drills for my stainless endeavours. Completely different bullet profile to normal drills and can certainly recommend them.

Thanks , a set of 5 looks quite cheap from Screwfix , well at least the same price as 2 x M6 all Carbide DannyC recommended.

into the unknown when they turn up .....

Maybe I can keep my engineer in my back pocket till I have a greater need ?

Finally had time to catch up on this thread... great stuff!
Brad
Many thanks for the compliment !

I suspect you are in some remote part of Canada and found yourself with little to do ;)(y)

This thread really needs a health warning as I swing @ random between self pity and despair !

It is currently on hold , only maybe an hour away from having a working brake as I really need my trick racing FWD delta working and the Python re-furbed for a trip to the Netherlands to meet some other AtomicZombies and do some riding.

all the best to you and yours Paul

Paul:
"This is both crude and time wasting , if I design my own car/quad it either needs to be accurate enough to avoid this all together
or if that is not possible then much simpler to adjust ...."
"This is proving to be a never ending nightmare to be honest , penance for some past misdemeanour..."
"ps: I wish I had numbered these problems when I started , wonder what numbers these two would have been
?"

If we knew all the problems before we started project, we should never started it! (neither finished it)… Some new problems should appear and some old disappear, some should become non-important or should be solved! Very old sentences that I red in American "Car & Driver", at late sixties, about some hot-rods making, it was the answer to journalist's question about well-prepared project with all problems known and put on list in advance...

So, as I couldn't find any postcard her in Bern, except some stupendous for tourists that could be bought in a complete of a dozen cards - I must write in this way!
Very instructive topic, in spite that neither I would reconstruct one pedal-car, nor see one! Some solutions are useful for any DIY HP vehicle construction! However, beside to see what is done and how it is done, it is more important to follow complete process of project-developing, going forward and a little backward, left and right, until the great finale (hope to see that, it is near)! The same, it is useful to follow the way of thinking and its development trough entire process! Nice topic as the other that I have good luck to see until now!

As I could see - no suspension at all (twistable chassis as in go-karts?) and no front brakes? But, it has differential - nice! I am sure that people who run pedal-car racing know what they are doing, from design to construction, driving their cars, too!

Well spent evening for me (long time needed for reading and writing - I am the Serb in Swiss)!

Ciao,
