I want some brownie points ? how do I degrease chains so I can make these ?

pre-wash them in something like Swarfega then put them them in the dishwasher but you may not get many brownie points if you get caught...... Do you know why they are called brownie points? Brownies are like pixies, not like girl-guides and their rewards, like all forms of faerie gold...

    Two separate chains on fwd?

On a fwd system, is there any reason not to replace the power idler with a pair of gears mounted on the same axle fed from the crankset. This secondary gear set would connect to the hub derailleur via a second chain.

Recumbent forks, what are my options?

Hi Paul, I am planning to use a conventional fork with a wood tiller/handlebar but I just want to explore other options in case I miss something

Recumbent forks, what are my options?

I am in the design phase for a 2 x 20” recumbent. Still haven’t finalised whether to go fwd or rwd but fwd is the most likely option. The frame will be hollow wood laminate. I have some questions. As the boom extends past the front fork it seems I should go with a tube through the frame. This...

I was thinking of going with something along these lines. I’d be grateful for your thoughts, especially about the triangulation of the rear forks. I was thinking of a hollow boom and upright with twin rear fork beams joined by 2 or 3 struts

I’m planning on using conventional fwd, probably with a modified 2nd hand fork. Any comments on the construction?

http://velorizontal.1fr1.net/t25398-mon-baudet-un-td-2x20-assez-minimal-et-utilitaire I’ve been trawling through the home builder section on the French velorizontal forum and found this. I realise the front is a mbb/Python type with plywood box boom . I think the front is a carbon fibre backed...

I think the reason I am drawn to a Toxy sized frame is because the seat and pedals are a similar height and when I tried a mock-up involving a garden reclining chair set about 40 degrees, everything seemed quite comfortable and I could put a foot flat on the floor with a foot at pedal height...

Regarding seat angle, it would be possible to bolt/screw everything together and glue it all down after a few test rides. A Python trike is certainly the better option but I am pig headed and stubborn and the bike is just something I need to get out of my system,

would it matter that the seat would not adjust for angle?

Warning!Typing while tired leads to many mistakes, very sorry. Yes delta Python (sorry Paul). Toxy ZR Not SV many apologies. I was thinking of a straight run from the rear wheel to the base of the down tube curve then trangulate the rear fork ends to the seat base...

    Woody?

I am seriously considering building a wood frame recumbent of some sort. I’ve joined several fora (forums?), bumped into Stormbird (who pointed me here), read a few posts on veloforum.de through Google Translate and even put together a Pinterest board. I need a commuter and one option is a...
