Video of a ICE trike crash - quite an eye opener [ glad it wan't me ! ]

You can see a slight wheel twist at 5.00-5.17 into the vids. Just a few degrees= more weight on the right side and going into that corner compounds it till it becomes terminal. The chamber of the road isn't helpful either. He was going to spill out on the right.

Video of a ICE trike crash - quite an eye opener [ glad it wan't me ! ]

The rear wheel seems to have 'rolled' (as in pitch, roll, yaw terms) first, so I agree with the consensus, there was a fault or something loose. That arm is a mere scratch. You should see my war wound from Stourport! No really my deepest sympathy for when this happens. Arm protection and...

    Nothing to lose really.

You could have reduced the thread diameter to 3/4 thread depth safely, to remove some metal. (even more in bad cases). I always use a die stock, with the machine spindle locked (or lowest gear). No machine cutting possible? I tried die cutting 1" x 24tpi a few months ago and that wasn't fun...

    Nothing to lose really.

Danny, are you using a circular split die? They can be opened up a tad to allow accurate thread sizing and ease thread cutting, but they can break if over done. [1 & 2] On cutting, go quarter turn forward cut, then back half a turn relieve swarf, quarter forward to engage & quarter cut. Repeat...

A Zues book is handy too. An engineers must have bible. It has coordinates for locating equally spaced holes etc. Handy in a workshop, stops you having to dash off for the internet. Martin

Dalerider of this parish giving it his all @ Hillingdon today

Friction would have been an option. The trouble didn't show up on practise runs. The front derailleur is friction, the rear, because you can't see the gears need indexing really. During the race when you apply full throttle the hard pedal pressure exacerbated the problem. Next time I will do...

Dalerider of this parish giving it his all @ Hillingdon today

Thanks guys, didn't expect to be able to do 2 races..., but I did. Had problems, no middle gears. The gear cable stretched and made my indexer shifter unable to find middle gears. Didn't have time, or forgot to fit an adjuster, lesson learnt! Hillingdon is pretty up and down with heavy climbs in...

So anyone use the ' Dutch method ' ?

Difficult to read even with a translation. Almost from a parallel universe, but you are right Danny. For checking a wobbly wheel. Had to listen to this for some reason as a insulator to the translation.

    This any interest ? a trike camper plans [ I think ]

It says use Acrobat reader. I tried Adobe but get the vhelio symbol at the bottom of the page, with navigation buttons and some clipped detail at the very top. Thinks, must have been a, badly source area. So nothing showing. That's for number 4, the 3d view. Lots of respondents saying same...

    Interesting 4 wheeler

Well, useful for back engineering or inspirations! I too would have to have a sugar momma, if they exist.

    Interesting 4 wheeler

Nice, simplistic (to me) design, that's well engineered. 5754 euro https://www.pony4.bike/drawings/ worth a drool over at least. Think others may have different takes.

Anyone know where I can buy these ? [ prefer in UK ]

Should be easy to make for yourself, if you can't obtain as above. Trial and error should be easy. Ok not for everyone, some people can't mix two ingredients into a mould, or make moulds! https://www.benam.co.uk/reoflex-50 Also reference: ROCK SHOX Judy XC Elastomer Springs Damper Repro...

Calling Lotharko can you explain how you did this ?

Possibly similar arrangement as say a Lambretta scooter. Spinning drum with non rotating shoes. Got a works manual for (my) Lammy 150GP but the pictures are poor too blackened. Welcome to peruse. Martin
