    Metric tubing in the UK?

Martin- Thanks for the info! I had no idea who made this in metric sizes and the only front hubs available are in metric sizes only. This should help a lot if I get back on my tadpole trike project I will contact this company and see if they can sell a small quantity to someone in the USA...

Can I put 700C wheels all around on my Warrior or Streetfox project?

With all that complication and alignment issues I will be building another Delta trike instead. I really like the simplicity and in my case I will be using a dual drive live axle that acts like a differential, but it will be 7/8" chrome molly tubing and look almost identical to the Timberwolf...

Can I put 700C wheels all around on my Warrior or Streetfox project?

Yes the hubs are 36 hole. We have steel suppliers here too, and I guess a 15mm piece of cold rolled would work fine - just cut down from whatever size was just a bit larger. Don't know if drill rod would work as well- it would have to be weldable of course.

Can I put 700C wheels all around on my Warrior or Streetfox project?

In my rush to order parts for a Streetfox or Warrior tadpole trike I ordered and got 15mm disc brake hubs (non - boost) from Taiwan. I think these should be large enough to handle 24" front wheels? and what is the best type of steel for the axles? (I can make my own)

Nicely done! Do you have a differential of some sort? Looks like you are driving both rear wheels... I did mine with sprag clutches and a live axle, Right now I am also running a jackshaft with the freewheel cluster on it on one end and a fixed sprocket on the other end that runs a short loop...

    Warrior build UK

Paul- I agree with you! The more I look at the tadpole madness the more things I think of that could make me wish I'd never seen one. About the only thing good I have to say is that they are "cute" in their own way. I think most people only think of tadpoles when they think of recumbent...

Brad- I thought it was just me! But my AVG anti-malware software is flagging it and I just ignore the warning and everything seems to work fine after that. I SURE HATE to see this happen to a fine website! Please let us know if we can do anthing on our end before you have to start all over...

Warrior trike build: weight -vs- strength testing

Great stuff, but any gears are noisier than no gears anywhere in the drive train. If I was going to run a motor drive at all, it would have to be a gearless hub motor- induction motor. The only moving part is the main rotor and the shaft bearings. There is no planetary gearbox or carbon...

    Metric tubing in the UK?

Could someone check for me- Looking for some chromemolly tubing in metric sizes. Specifically 20mm or 25mm OD with a 2mm wall thickness about 1 meter long - sources?? I can't find any metric tubing over here at all. Inch sizes only in the USA.

Warrior and Streetfox- Has anybody weighed either of their creations?

So did you build another tadpole with the round tubing or what? If a tadpole, did you get any flex during pedaling on the boom?

Warrior and Streetfox- Has anybody weighed either of their creations?

I'm comparing apples to oranges I know, but I built my wife's Timberwolf delta trike out of 1.5" (38.1mm) square mild steel tubing and it weighed 54 pounds (24.49KG) with the Barringer seat made from EMT. No special wheels or tires. The only deviation I made was the seat and it is probably...

Warrior and Streetfox- Has anybody weighed either of their creations?

Tell me more! is this automotive muffler tubing? what is the wall thickness? It should be lighter than the square 1.5" stuff at 1.13 pounds per foot??? The last time I was calculating this stuff it was showing that the round is about 68% of the square tubing weight and you could see a weight...

Warrior trike build: weight -vs- strength testing

Never owned anything but hub motors, but let's say the mid drive motor is pulling you along. Now there's some chain tension, and let's say that the trike is equipped with a deraileur on the rear wheel. Then we go up a hill. Now we want to change gears to something lower so as to maintain...

Warrior and Streetfox- Has anybody weighed either of their creations?

Not to rain on anyone's parade here, but Just wondering what either of those two machines weighs if you buid them with the standard 1.5" square tubing? I measured some of my square tubing and I came up with 1.1 pounds per linear foot. I think by the time you get all the components on, and a...

Warrior trike build: weight -vs- strength testing

Not sure how a mid drive motor would fit into the Warrior/Streetfox scenario, and since the rear wheel (direct drive) motor is whisper quiet, I don't think the weight down low back there is an issue. Also there is no chain jerking during shifting with a direct drive motor since the force is...

Warrior trike build: weight -vs- strength testing

They are just idlers on the ICE VTX? And does that machine have a rear swingarm arrangement with a shock like the Streetfox? Can't see one in the pic unfortunately. Wow that machine looks like it is moving fast while sitting still! But I don't know how comfortable it would be to "ride" /...
