2wd rear of delta or quad + suspension - will it work ?

For option 1, why do the swingarms need to be mirrored instead of facing the same direction? So like option two, but with single sided arms, both on one side.

How to attach freewheel to wrong side of wheel ?

I prefer the already listed solutions, but is a keyed shaft too special a part?

Adding a motor to my trike

Only a single chainring on mid drive motors, correct. Because of the width, placement of motor and gearbox, there generally isn’t room for more. That’s not to say someone somewhere hasn’t done it. The thinking is that the extra torque from the electric assist removes the need for more gears.

    Folding Python delta trike

You can use a series of holes drilled across and then use a hitch pin to secure it. Might rattle a bit, but I’d trust it more than a bolt. Easier to do with no tools as well.

    1.5” OD or ID?

    Folding Python delta trike

    Found the other vendor: https://framebuildersupply.com/products/bottom-bracket-shells-69mm-74mm-101mm-38-1mm-od-iso

    Folding Python delta trike

If I find the other vendor I found, I’ll post a link somewhere. Pickings are a bit slim near me so I’ve looked into other options for parts.

    Folding Python delta trike

Not sure what they would run in UK/EU, but I’ve seen a few US vendors for $5 or do. https://www.bikefabsupply.com/bottom-brackets/68mm-x-381-bottom-bracket-shell-chromo-threaded-137-x-24-tpi

Delta/quad jack shaft recommendations for build ?

I’ve only seen freehub adapters, not freewheel. I would think the placement of the ratchet on a freewheel would complicate matters. You would have to have at least the drive side of the hub attached to the axle. Which means either nuts and bolts or an aluminum axle, each bad for different...

    Disc brake size

Well aren’t those cute? I suspect I will purchase based on who has them available in purple because WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) is real.

    Disc brake size

Good to know. Nice thing is that the standardization of rotor sizes should make a caliper upgrade much more likely than on motorized vehicles.

    Disc brake size

How much variation is there in bike pads/calipers? I know autos and motorcycles have a huge range available (not to mention multi piston calipers).

    Disc brake size

I think the plans are set up for a standard 160mm rotor. you can get slightly different mounts and standoffs to adjust a little bit.

    Tadpole front hub options

180 kg weight limit seems impressive. Maybe on a second iteration or upgrade. I’ve got some Sun Rhyno XL saved in an Amazon list. Triple wall, 20”, welded, brass eyelets for $60 shipped.

    Tadpole front hub options

Mostly road use rather than trail use. I’ll use single track for trails/paths. Unless one of really likes recumbents and trikes in which case the single track bikes get chopped for parts. But this project, road use.

    Tadpole front hub options

yep. Saw a bunch of 12’s. Not only am I doing a tandem, the riders are at the beginning of a weight loss journey, not the end. Now that I have hubs on the way I’ve switched research to rims and spokes. About all I can figure so far for sure is that double wall are mandatory. I think triples...

    Tadpole front hub options

I wound up ordering the ones linked above and a few other odds and ends. It’s grossly premature, but I was feeling flush. Also, with the Chinese holiday, who knows when it may show up.

    Tadpole front hub options

oops. Located in the US. a mix of a few things is what I’m looking at building. Mostly Viking but with some other elements from some others. I need a day or so without parents down to grandkids needing my time so that I can sit down at Autocad and start drawing things up. There’s a chance I’ll...

    Tadpole front hub options

I spent a half hour or more trying to figure out a good online source for hubs. The nearby shops don’t have much in the way of parts. ‘Hub’ is too short for the search feature to accept it. I’m building a two seater for some heavy people. Total weight about 500 pounds or a little more. Looking...

How do you think he did this ? and other steering questions :-)

I’m also wondering why no caster. The craftsmanship all seems very nice and some design elements are quite clean, but some choices are just odd.
