He didn't seem to be going at that vast a speed and although there's a lot of wind noise the trees are barely moving. Perhaps too little track width? I'm somewhat unimpressed with it's stability but very impressed it appeared to not disintegrate on impact. It looked like the biggest damage was to pride.

there are lots of stories of what happens in a crash should you not be wearing a helmet ? if you watch closely at the end his head is about to hit the kerb and they don't have seat restraints.
not unusual for facial damage and the odd broken nose , allegedly the hump behind the head will save you in a full roll over however not much use if you are simply sliding in it along the tarmac ?
