I just placed the last order for my next buil, a camper.
Yesterday the wood and Glue and today the coraplast.
Next week i order some epoxy and pick up a wooden plate.
Only need 4 Aluminium round 22. But i don't know the length yet, zo i wait with that. It depends on how high i place my frame on my wheels.
Solar panels are shipped next week and other parts for that will arive i hope next week.
I need some small stuff, but that will come later and other things can i order in the shop in my street.
I will use the base design of Paul Elkins and make an other version of the bottom plate.
This will be in a cimilar style as a German man called Matthias did.
He made it stronger and more durable. I will only not make the wheel covers from wood.
I have 2 old 20 inch wheels that i wil let be fixed and after that i clean them and paint them.
Need some tires for them, but that will also come later.
My build will be a few cm narrower, but not much.
Bottomwill get a stronger construction and an other mount to the bike.
3 layers ad the floor and bigger wheel covers.
A bit higher from the ground. This so i can move it up the stears and still move the wheels a bit more to the front.
2 solar panels on the roof. Each side one, so one always works. Make it so i can take them off and place them both in the sun.
My 17,5ah will be charged by the solar panels and will be used to power the camper. I can also charge my other batteries with the solar panels.
The 17,5ah will also be my backupp battery for my trike. But i think with 2 29.1ah batteries, that i have enough.
2 fans that i can controll in speed instead of 1. This way i can put them both lower or if needed have more ventilation.
Front and back inside several 12v and 5v connections so i can chargemy stuff and power my lights inside.
Build isn't as cheap as i first planned, but this is better and more drabble.
White coraplast with isolation foil on the inside. I think i paint it in the same style as my trike, but i am not surten yet.
These small bike campers grow in popularity and especially in Germany, there are a lot of people building them.
I want to traffel in the eu and this gives me the posibility to make longer trips. With a tent, you aren't allowed to camp in the wild in most places in the eu, but with this you may sleep along the roads in most eu countries. THat makes that i don't have to look for a camp site every day and keep the costs down.
Also no more setting up a tent and breaking it down in the rain.
With the solar panels i can traffel longer without the need of power to charge my batteries.
After a test, i will probably go forst to germany to ride with some other builders and meat Matthias who helped me a lot by sharing his build photo's and ginving me tips and what i need.
