I'm afraid this project is well past the 'scooter' stage. If I get to register it fine. If not, that's OK too..
There are thousands of hobby cars, real and other wise, that are never meant for the road.
It will be drive-able, but is mainly for the satisfaction of creating it, and maybe some shows or parades.
I'm a huge fan of those who show their creative-artistic passion in any venue. Thanks for sharing yours. I'm really digging this build~!

Finished up about 9 pm.

The parts for the lower drive unit have been cut, sanded, and some are drying.

In the morning there's more sanding to be done, some priming, and final paint.
If all goes well, I will put it all together, and set aside for drying, yet again.

With this heat things are drying quite quickly. I'm having to be mindful, that things can dry too quickly.

Thanks Graucho

Your quality work inspires me to this day. I still have your paint video's logged away, for the day I will want to review them again.

Got a 5 am start this morning. Shop at a cool 68 degrees.

Have sanded and glued all the parts together.
Waiting for the glue to set up enough to prime everything.

Photo's coming when complete on this one. Probably later today, or this evening.

As promised, the photos of the completed lower drive.

Before

After

Installed

I think I will change out the chain with a fresh 'gold' chain.
That will add yet another detail element to the build.

Now if I can come up with some 1" braided hoses, to bring it all together.

You might even find that it runs after all that work. I'm assuming that you have a key on the dashboard with a push button for starting?
Actually, one of the motor kits I've been looking at, comes with a keyed switch, and accelerator pedal.

Got the outlets installed, and the bottom hose cut and attached.

Thought I had enough hose to do both top and bottom, but either I didn't, or I've misplaced the other piece.
The remaining length of hose, I do have, is the next size up, which is to big.

Going to the swap meet tomorrow. Maybe I will find a treasure or two there.

This is just great!
Watching this thread is now part of my morning routine... Java with Ed.

Brad
Thanks Brad

And you know what else is great ?
I made it to the swap meet this morning, but there was a smaller turn out of vendors from usual.
Went looking for another flexible hose, but they all came with a vacuum of some sort.

Slim pick'ins
Then I came across this....

This is the type hose I wanted from the beginning. But I wasn't about to pay for a new one.
As it turns out, I only needed $6, for the perfect hose.

After cutting to length, I found the hose fit nice and snug in the PVC fittings.
As of these photos, all that remains is to secure the water neck, and paint them silver to match.

I was able to use the natural bend that came with the hose.

Body Reveal ? ...Maybe !

For a considerable time now, I have been torn between a couple of different body styles.
Was trying to combine some of the desired lines from each, with little success.

So, this morning, I put pencil to paper, and this is the result.

The frame, engine, wheels are from an actual shop photo. I did it this way so I could try and get the proportions right.
A metallic, candy red body, and frame, with a tan top is what I'm thinking, as of this writing.
Tan interior seats.

Its been the requisite 5 minutes and the weather has changed.

From hot and dry, it's now hot and humid. โ˜” YUK !
I spend about an hour or so working, cool off for another hour or so, and back at it.

Because I'm seriously thinking about starting work on the body,
I knew it was time to get the windshield supports made.

First there had to be a couple of rivnuts installed at the bottom. ....
Took some time, because my new rivnut tool won't work with the larger size nuts.
So I DIY'd my own installation tool, which worked really well ...this time. Whew!

Next I cut out and shaped, rod ends. The rods are 3/8 ".
They are not just for looks, but are fully functional, to hold the windshield frame.
(Can't be too careful, when the wind velocity at 10-15 mph, can be tremendous)

Everything has been tack welded. (Maybe I should name this the....' TACKY T '

The welds came out a bit globular, this time.
But I'm not into pretty at this stage.

This photo makes the rod end look crooked, but it is tapered on that end.
All will be ground smooth and round-ish when completed.

The rods themselves will be sanded to bare metal, polished and clear coated.

Body Mock Up

Got some 1/2" PVC and assorted fittings for this phase.
First day of mock up.

Need to bring the drawing to life.
At this stage all the 'curves' are not there, and need to be.
I've worked with minor small sheet metal projects, but this (if I go this way) will require much larger panels.
Some of the curves/corners, require an expertise, I'm not sure I'm up to yet.

However, this helps with the size, as it looks to be in the drawing.
I still want to project the drawing onto a whiteboard, as I did with the Inferno.
Only this time, I plan on cutting the traced outline out, and use it as a template.

Using rubber load cords to maintain a tension. This gives somewhat the curved look for the top.
Checking for room for seat placement, motor, battery, etc.
