My cozy little nook in the corner!
Just posted a thread about seeing the vid, before seeing this post about it.
Anyway, very cool! Caught it by chance yesterday while surfing cycling vids
on my Roku box. It was only 19 minutes old at the time & I was view #9! :)

A donate button has no shame if it allows a community surrounding a project to keep on existing and thriving. The folks at Bay12Games have been running off from donations for years for their labor of love (Dwarf Fortress), getting enough to allow them to make it a full time job. In the end the donations go towards allowing the game to be made and distributed for free, but it also allows them to keep their forums up which nurtures the community.

If things get to the point where even a donation button isn't enough you could do a patreon with content separate from what people would get in the store. Although with patreon you have to do more paperwork and they take a cut of it, but it provides an easy to use structure on whatever sort of campaign you would want to run. I think something like build vlogs or video guides on some of the plans (current or new) would be best suited for that system, with the videos potentially being put on youtube after a significant delay. Although you don't even have to offer content with a patreon campaign if you don't want to.

We have so many ideas now!
Thanks to this amazing community.

I see a not so distant future where I have a small 10x10 shack with a permanent camera set up and the ability to pump out a lot of video content.
Most of the time is setting up for the shot, but a dedicated shack with simple lights and cam would make it so easy.

What do y'all think about me doing an entire DIY build on video?
Something like that would look like perhaps 20 segments, each under an hour, but with every single step shown on video, including grinder / welder tips and tricks.

I think it would garner a lot of interest, and viewers.
As you know, I rely heavily on photo's to tell 'my' story.

However, making a video is quite time consuming, with set up, editing, etc.
I hope this idea will somehow, help to alleviate the present status quo?

I didn't check the forum the last days, but this sounds interesting.
I need to read all the comments still, but the first post sounds interesting.

Man, I'm lovin' the sound of THAT! Personally, I spend a lot of time watching cycling-related youtube
vids on my Roku box, so even if I never get to build another HPV, this would still be right up my alley!
I agree with Ed. I think it would garner a lot more interest! I'm eagerly anticipating & hoping! :)

My cozy little nook in the corner!
Showing the love, I just now purchased 6 more plans, just to help out!
Well, also to give me some reading material.

Oh... and also to add to my extensive collection of HPV plans!

Thanks again everyone, I am implementing ideas as they roll in!

Added a "2 for $20" tier to the plan pricing just now as well.
The "6 for $36" is also there, so basically the pricing works like this now...

1 Plan is $16.95
2-5 Plans : $10.00 each
6-40 Plans : $6/00 each

Will see how that works for a while.

Cheers,
Brad

That looks good Brad.
I really like the 'blinking' graphic.

Is there a visual coming someplace, letting the customer know about the (2-5 plans)?
Or even the 6-40 plans @ $6.00 each?

I saw that you added your video to the Donate To AZ page.
It really helps to bring AZ alive!
I think it blended in with the overall message, quite well.
And certainly puts the website on a personal level, with the public.

Continuing with the personal touch.

I am reminded of the time I was learning to set up a WordPress website for our RV group.
In that, I was working on an idea to have a short welcome video, with a message from the President,
along with various still pics of our camp outs and some of the members.

Maybe something you might have fun making.

I think that's a great idea! Offers an intermediate option for those who may want
more than one plan, but not quite ready to pop for six, even if it IS a great deal. (y)

Sounds good and the videos would be great.

I would also like to see build results from others that used the designs and added some own things to it or used other parts.

I have been thinking about creating a YouTube channel for trike-associated stuff but it is not sufficiently close to the top of the list to actually happen yet. Downloaded appropriate instruction on how to go about it. Its time will come. I guess.

There is nothing that says it like pictures or a video.

Just saw this for the first time. I've loved your plans for a long time and built the Marauder a LONG time ago. I want to get back into this as I plan to retire in the next 5-7 years and want a stable of projects to keep me busy. I think you should keep the plans single or even offer a special price 3-pack.
