This seems to have composite leaf springs front and back ?

I see he has used "driven" SA90 hubs and a SAMAGAGA diff Paul. You can see the bolts on the outer drive plate going into the hub spokes to do the driving of the hub shell.
No obvious Caster angle on the front either, but with that leaf springing its all moot anyway.
Nice job!

he seems to have a big gap between the back plates and the hubs ?

Yes I noticed that too. It may be a compromise he has had to make in order to have driven shafts & drum-hubs?
But he has managed it on the larger and more round-faced 90mm hub-shells (which we thought would be problematic because of their contours).

Hohoho, etc.

About the leaf-springed german quad, I think (at least) the parts come from the Company Velomo.
Intersting company with many projects, in below linked YT visited by a german youtuber.
Sharpen your eyes in the beginning and you will see the components.
(Followed by 20mins of very many german words and some fun stuff!)

Cheers!
