My cozy little nook in the corner!
Went to the storage unit yesterday to try to do a little work on one of my bents.
Unfortunately, the door doesn't stay up all the way, so coming out, I bashed my
head SUPER hard, knocking me to the floor, nearly unconscious, passing out a few minutes later!

So I bashed my head, hit the floor, passed out, got to ride to the ER in an ambulance,
& got 4 staples in my head. Needless to say, I didn't get anything done on the bent...

And I thought you only needed to wear a helmet when you RODE one....

Ouch! Hope you feel better really soon.
Q. Was any sense knocked into you? My father always threatened to "knock some sense into me" when I was horsing around. :D

If so, I can't tell it. Heck, if I had any sense, I wouldn't be trying to work
on a recumbent at a storage unit. 🙄 (Not like I have a choice, though.)

FWIW, the insertion of those staples hurt like nobody's business! 😵

Looks like stainless fence wire, surely you could have made them and inserted them with a mirror??
Ok, reality though, glad you are ok, could have been a lot worse.

Glad you're okay. Hang in there. I'll keep building in your honor :p
Thanx, man! :)

Yeah, in retrospect, & in true garage hacker fashion, I guess I could've done
it myself, except I didn't have time. I was running out of blood!

And yeah, it could've been worse. I did get professional medical attention quickly.
On the downside, I can just imagine what I'm gonna get hit with in medical bills!

Sir Joey: Struth!! A staple diet is probably now in order. Wounds like that on the top of the head can bleed like mad. Hit my head on the catch of a vehicle tailgate once as I was getting ready for a 2 hour plus trip. Hurt quite a bit and resulted in a 1cm gash. A short time later, the top of my head was feeling warm and wet. I put my hand up to feel and discovered the blood pouring out. I was quite concerned but, fortunately, it congealed pretty quickly and I continued on the trip hoping it wouldn't start up again.

Life is a sexually transmitted disease and/or a succession of near misses. Your near miss looks nasty. You don't have a bike crash helmet among your hacking safety gear?

Actually, I have one that I wear every time I ride around here, cuz I'm in the city, & we have absolutely ZERO cycling
infrastructure, & even less respect for cyclists. Never considered wearing it just to WORK on them, however! :ROFLMAO:

Maybe I need to rethink this...

OMG ! Does that bring back memories.

I had an encounter with a roll-up (and down!) door, similar to yours.
But I walked into it, with my head looking at the ground.

Also hit myself in the head with a hammer, (don't ask), in a spot not far from where your wound is.
Had stitches as well.

I've been busy planning/working on a Halloween display, for a get together, of a few friends and family.
Can I borrow, a copy of your head, it would fit right in, with some of my other gory decorations ? :devilish:

Anyway, sorry for your knock on the head.
It looks painful.

" FWIW, the insertion of those staples hurt like nobody's business! "
Didn't they offer you a whiskey bottle, to help with the pain ?

No, the guy told me it would feel "like a pinch"!
