I'm thinking of possibly building a tandem but want two different styles to be incorporated. The wife can't use a recumbent ergo an upright style for her. Since I can use a 'bent I thought, maybe, I could use a recumbent in front for myself. Please enlighten me on if I'm crazy or not. Or if this might be a possibility. Thanks to all, Mark

Hello Mark - welcome to the forum.

Great idea, and no need to reinvent the wheel, as it were:

Depending on your DIY skills, you could marry the front of a SWB bike to a rear end of a regular DF bike, and be pretty close to this.

I did see one of these being ridden along a Thames towpath some time back, and it looked like a lot of fun.

Hope you find/make what you're looking for...........:)

My cozy little nook in the corner!
T Mark, that's pretty much what I had in mind back when I slapped this thing together for my sister.
I left it open to the possibility of adding a second set of cranks & a seat, to make a hybrid tandem.

Wasn't too tough of a build, but I later realized I should've added
a support to that long top tube. It had some noticeable flex!
